Engagement photographer Karlobag Croatia
Petra+Danko
We remember sitting at the coffee shop waiting for Petra and Danko to discuss their upcoming wedding. When we saw them approaching we thought: “Oh no, this won’t be good.” They weren’t even holding hands! Scheduled to shoot their engagement session few weeks prior to their wedding, we feared this would turn out to be another stiff posing session. But oh boy, were we wrong! They turned out to be so easygoing, friendly and relaxed. We barely had to direct them. They were so naturally expressive. What surprised us the most is the fact they had so much to say to each other even though they were already living together and in a 5-year long relationship! It was fun seeing that aspect of them considering that we two are not much of talkers.
Since Danko works in a local cafe with pretty charming interior, we thought we should definitely use that setting to capture some of their photos. On top of that, it is a place where Petra and Danko like to spend much of their time together, as well as with their friends and usually refer to it as “the base.”
Velebit mountain range is the second place we chose to document their engagement. Velebit stretches for 145km along the Adriatic coast but we chose to stop near city of Karlobag. It turned out we’ve done them a favor since they haven’t been at the seaside for quite some time! Upon arrival to the location we parked the car and got out of it. We were nearly blown over by the mercilessly cold wind! Though expected, it still ended up as a surprise. Luckily, hiking got our blood pumping and we managed to avoid any frostbite, LOL. The picturesque scenery was truly breathtaking. We were 927m above the sea surface. The air was fresh and salty and the view was completely mesmerizing. We honestly can’t wait to go back. Take a look and you be the judge!
